When possible, we love to do in-person engagements. Jessica, (the founder) is located in Northampton MA, USA, and offers in-person programs within driving distance, or can (sometimes) be persuaded to get on a plane … particularly if it’s to somewhere warm in the winter.

Jessica Gifford, LICSW
Founder, Chief Connection Officer

Jessica is a social worker, turned connection expert and entrepreneur. She helps individuals and organizations build stronger relationships. Her work is based on the premise that developing 5 fulfilling friendships is the antidote to loneliness. However, because there are so many challenges to making friends as an adult, Jessica created the ProjectConnect program to make the process easier and more fun. ProjectConnect provides a step-by-step roadmap for creating connection in small groups.

Jessica has worked with over 100 organizations—from colleges to corporations to community centers—and trained more than 500 ProjectConnect group facilitators. Thousands of participants—from 12 to 92 years old—have gone through ProjectConnect groups, reduced loneliness, and built connection.

ProjectConnect’s Values

Our core values are to act with and promote CARE.

Compassion and Kindness. We believe in treating people with kindness and compassion even—and especially—when it feels difficult to do so. The world can be de-humanizing. We want to re-humanize, which requires kindness and compassion.

Authenticity. We believe that genuine, meaningful connection only happens when we are able to be ourselves. This involves being brave enough to take some emotional risks and be vulnerable.

Respect. We believe that respect—especially across difference—helps create an environment of psychological safety, where it is possible to be ourselves and express our perspectives.

Empathy. We believe that being willing to put ourselves into other people’s shoes—and empathize with their emotions—promotes deeper understanding and connection.
