When You Connect You Protect

FREE WEBINAR

When You Connect, You Protect: how to build student connection and improve mental health.

Free Zoom Presentation
May 17, 1:00-2:00 PM Eastern Time
Optional breakout rooms 2:00-2:30 PM Eastern time.

According to the National College Health Assessment, over half of students are lonely at any given time. This is doubly concerning because loneliness is fueling the current mental health crisis. Fortunately, the reverse is also true. Having positive relationships protects against depression, anxiety, and suicide. When you connect, you protect!

And, small actions can make a big difference when it comes to helping students interact and connect in more meaningful ways. This webinar provides concrete, actionable strategies that you can apply immediately to help students build connection. Participants can expect to:

  • Understand the current data on loneliness and its relationship to mental health

  • Learn the Recipe for Friendship

  • Explore the ProjectConnect program, as an example of building connection (as featured in Inside Higher Ed)

  • Identify 3 easy-to implement exercises that build connection quickly

  • Practice the exercises in breakout rooms (optional)
